Multi-mode operation including SSB, AM, FM, D-STAR DV\/DD and FM-TV (Amateur TV). Output power is 10 W on 144, 430\/440, 1200 MHz, 2 W on 2400, 5600 MHz and 0.5 W on 10 GHz.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">Separate Controller and RF Unit Configuration<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The IC-905 is the industry\u2019s first super efficient\u00a0microwave base station with the RF unit designed\u00a0to be at the base of the antenna, rather than in the\u00a0shack. This design eliminates signal loss due to\u00a0costly, long coax feed line runs found in legacy SHF\u00a0designs. Optional 50 m (164 ft) or 20 m (65.6 ft)\u00a0controller cable is available with the IC-905.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">Less Signal Loss<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With the RF unit mounted at the antenna, transmit\u00a0and receive signals are at their maximum efficiency\u00a0as the coax feed line is measured in inches rather\u00a0than feet, keep signal loss to a minimum. This is possible due to the controller cable providing digital\u00a0communications between the controller and RF units.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">Power Supplied through the Controller Cable<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The DC power is supplied from the controller to the\u00a0RF unit through the controller cable, making it\u00a0possible to supply power with a low loss.\u00a0Moreover, optional CX-10G\u2019s power is supplied from\u00a0the IC-905 RF unit.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">GPS-Controlled Oscillator for Ultimate Frequency Stability<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Frequency accuracy and stability are required for SHF band operation.\u00a0Even with a high-performance OCXO, the frequency gradually changes\u00a0due to temperature and aging. To solve this problem, the IC-905\u00a0uses a high-precision 1 pulse-per-second (1 PPS) clock signal from an\u00a0internal GPS (GNSS) receiver to enable advanced frequency control.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">Wideband 50 MHz Span<br \/>\nReal-time Spectrum Scope<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A high-performance real-time spectrum scope and waterfall\u00a0display are built in. The real-time spectrum scope can be\u00a0adjusted for Center, Fixed, and Scroll mode, and it covers a\u00a0wide bandwidth of up to 50 MHz span.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">ATV (Amateur TV) Mode<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The IC-905 is compatible with the ATV (FM-TV, NTSC, PAL\u00a0or SECAM) mode. With an analog camera connected, the\u00a0IC-905 can transmit video, and receive a real-time video.\u00a0Furthermore, received videos can be monitored on an external display connected through AV-output connector.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">Icom Common User Interface<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The controller of the IC-905 was designed based on the\u00a0compact IC-705 and utilizes Icom\u2019s Common User Interface\u00a0system used in Icom\u2019s touch screen transceivers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">Full D-STAR Functions<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>DV, DD mode, DR function, Terminal mode, and Access Point mode\u00a0enable easy use of D-STAR. It is also possible to send, receive, and\u00a0view received pictures with the IC-905.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">Optional 10 GHz Transverter, CX-10G<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The CX-10G transverter provides\u00a010 GHz operation by converting to\u00a0a 2400 MHz IF signal.\u00a010 GHz operation becomes more\u00a0approachable and easier to work.\u00a0The CX-10G is in bypass mode\u00a0when the use of the 2400 MHz\u00a0band.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3 class=\"headline3 title\">A Variety of Optional Antennas<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Optional Collinear antennas for each bands, 2400, 5600 MHz and 10 GHz are available.
